Delivering Exceptional
STEM EDUCATION

Aim Academy of Science and Technology (AAST) is a public charter school in Minneapolis, Minnesota, that is part of the MDE. It serves 170 middle and high schoolers from grades 6-12. All our classes are STEM-based.

As a STEM school, we provide a curriculum that is designed to provide basic knowledge of programming and computer languages. Courses we offer include coding and digital literacy classes. For our coding classes, we have partnered with the New Vision Foundation.

AAST provides youth a successful path to college and STEM careers through culturally responsive mentorship, integrated STEM education, and curricular connections with technology-based businesses and industries.

AAST will be a vibrant asset to its students and the community by creating engaging learning opportunities that empower students to discover, create and apply knowledge to real needs resulting in life-long learners, global citizens, and world leaders.

Mathematics
Desmos
Desmos is a free online math curriculum designed for 6-8 graders. It lets students explore math in new and exciting ways and love learning it. Desmos has graph functions, plot tables of data, equations, and exploring transformations. Teachers can assign activities and games and check their progress.

Gizmos
Gizmos is the world's largest online interactive simulation for math and science for all grades. Gizmos give students something to graph, measure, and compare.
Literacy
Read to Achieve
Read to Achieve is tailored to the more complex forms of literacy required in middle and high school. R2A is the first reading program to teach comprehension strategies that students can carry into their content area classes.

Achieve3000
Achieve3000 (digital curriculum) is designed for effective and deeper learning for students across ELA, Science, and Social Studies. It features robust, standards-aligned content, embedded assessments, and dynamic interactive tools for educators.

Coding classes are offered by the New Vision Foundation. The STEM program, including the coding and digital literacy curriculum, is designed to provide basic knowledge of programming and computer languages.

STEM Fuse includes STEM integration, computer programming, and coding using topic-driven challenges. Gizmos puts students in the role of STEM professionals to solve real-world problems through interactive online activities, including case studies. The students form and test ideas to find solutions.

Inspire Science (6-12 integrated Science)
Inspire Science brings science off the page and beyond the four walls of the classroom into the exciting world in which we live with a wealth of online and offline resources. It goes much further as it dives deep into the incredible natural phenomena all around us to spark students' imagination and inspire success.
